I was distraught to hear that gossipgirl_lsa had deleted her journal, and have created gossipboy_lsa in her honor and hopes that she will return for the coming year. Add me!

news. [30 Jul 2005|11:21pm]

sup kids? we've got a month until school begins. i personally am grateful that we have a new d&d right across the street, i will definitely be taking advantage of some quality coffee on those mornings where i desperately need to fully wake-up.

also, we've got some construction going on in front of the school by the pegasus entrance.. if all goes well, some pipe will burst and the first day of school will be delayed for a full week.

in other news, especially that concerning livejournal, it seems we have a "lasalle gossip girl." i found it a few months ago when they friended this journal (i'm the mod fyi) and never really thought twice about it. recently, it's been leaked all over the AIM profiles of the lasalle academy hierarchy.. you know, the popular kids. anyway, you can read it here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/gossipgirl_lsa/ and figure out who's being talked about by yourself. i happen to know who the author is (thanks to a strange conversation with certain members of my sophomore religion class) and have been sworn to secrecy.

sports! (and clubs!) what fall activities will you guys be participating in? if you did something last year and really enjoyed it, talk about it here and leave it for other community members to investigate the activity and perhaps get involved in something themselves. i know that a lot of kids don't do a whole lot of extracurriculars, especially myself, so try and get involved.

myspaces. i'm almost sure everyone in this community has one, or at least knows what one is, so it'd be nice if you could all comment to this entry with yours (or just join the lasalle group on myspace) just so you can keep up on everyone else in a friendly, non stalker way.

sophomore i mean junior class, i have heard from various sources that we have ms.murphy as our dean again. i'm kind of disappointed, i really liked romani.

finally, everyone stay safe for the rest of the summer and enjoy yourselves.

stay fresh!
- nina

ps. anyone taking microbiology next year?

For anyone who had Mr. Collins this year, we all know he prayed for his brother who had cancer pretty much every class. I just heard that his brother died last week. So if any of you feel like writing him a note or something, feel free. Just thought some of you would like to know.

Also, apparently he had his surgery and he's doing well.

CHOIR: A group of people whose singing allows the rest of the Parish to lip-sync.

HOLY WATER: A liquid whose chemical formula is H2OLY.

TEN COMMANDMENTS: The most important Top Ten list not given by David Letterman.

USHERS: The only people in the parish who don't know the seating capacity of a pew.

Film Festival next Friday at 7:30 pm.

Despite the traditional stupid senior pictures with "Good Riddance" playing in the background, I think it's gonna be a good year for filming.

hey everyone, i just cleaned out the community a little bit. i removed some people from the members list with deleted journals, added a few new interests. i'm actually kind of surprised at how many people have joined this community.

we have just over 40 days of classes left, so keep your head up because summer is almost here.. it's even been feeling like spring lately, as opposed to the extended winter we had this year.

if there's anything you want added to the community, or the userinfo, feel free to let me know.

i'd really like it if you guys could post more; this includes letting us know what's going on outside of school. if you have a band and you're playing a gig, or you're in a play.. fill us in, i'm sure some of us would be interested in attending.

I found out today that the school year has been extended to the 14th of June. This is unheard of for LaSalle. I've been going here for four years, and no matter how many emergency days we've gotten off, we've never had the school year extended. I'm flying out of town on the 9th (which was supposed to be the last day of exams), so now I'm going to have to take some of my exams early. It's not like that's really an inconvenience for me, but it's just the point that LaSalle has never done this, and they do it the one year that I'm leaving town. GAHH

p.s. It hasn't started snowing yet.

Just in case you didn't hear me griping all day already... [18 Mar 2005|05:40pm]

[ mood | annoyed ]

About this dress code deal...

Backless shoes, I understand. If you think they're really that big of a deal if there was ever a fire, well, okay. That's a safety issue.

Dress Code? It's part of the uniform. Understandable that the school wants us to look presentable, and make things easier on both sides.

But today, for the first time in two years, I got in trouble for something dress-code related that I found rediculous. Absolutely unnecessery.

What's the deal with tights? They can be one, obnoxious, bright color, but as soon as they have a pattern on them, FOR EXAMPLE, black and white checkers, something's absolutely outragous.

One of the teachers/deans/etc. pulled me aside after lunch to tell me my tights were not acceptable to wear, and that we were only allowed to wear solid color tights. They then made a comment that they were, quote, "Wow! Ya know what I'm saying?"

Does this make any sense that we can have the most insane knee-high socks ever, but as soon as they extend 5 inches to where our skirt is supposed to be...the world ends? What is this? What's going on?

Last months I was also reprimanded for wearing legwarmers. With, tights. Solid colored tights. My legs were more covered than the cheerleaders, and although I may have looked rediculous, It was fun, and different.

Which seems to be a bad thing.
