About this dress code deal...
Backless shoes, I understand. If you think they're really that big of a deal if there was ever a fire, well, okay. That's a safety issue.
Dress Code? It's part of the uniform. Understandable that the school wants us to look presentable, and make things easier on both sides.
But today, for the first time in two years, I got in trouble for something dress-code related that I found rediculous. Absolutely unnecessery.
What's the deal with tights? They can be one, obnoxious, bright color, but as soon as they have a pattern on them, FOR EXAMPLE, black and white checkers, something's absolutely outragous.
One of the teachers/deans/etc. pulled me aside after lunch to tell me my tights were not acceptable to wear, and that we were only allowed to wear solid color tights. They then made a comment that they were, quote, "Wow! Ya know what I'm saying?"
Does this make any sense that we can have the most insane knee-high socks ever, but as soon as they extend 5 inches to where our skirt is supposed to be...the world ends? What is this? What's going on?
Last months I was also reprimanded for wearing legwarmers. With, tights. Solid colored tights. My legs were more covered than the cheerleaders, and although I may have looked rediculous, It was fun, and different.
Which seems to be a bad thing.
